About the Program
The Master's Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) was officially established in 2021 under the auspices of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). The program's permit was established on June 25, 2021, through the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Decree number 283/E/O/2021. The opening of this master's program is not only seen as an effort to update the relevance of USK in preparing skilled workers in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science in the future but also as an effort to realize the grand scenario of improving the nation's competitiveness, as mandated in the Basic Framework for Higher Education Development KPPTJP IV 2003-2010 (HELTS 2003-2010).

Objectives and Targets
The objectives of the Master's Program in Artificial Intelligence have been formulated clearly, specifically, and measurably and they will be evaluated every five years. The objectives are:
High Quality Graduates
Produce highly quality graduates, moral, virtuous, faithful, and devoted to Allah SWT. Knowledgeable, skilled, professional, and able to participate in development. Capable of adapting to the development of science and technology and having a sense of independence and entrepreneurship. Disciplined and possessing a strong work ethic.
Academic Program Development
Develop academic programs in artificial intelligence and data science that are in accordance with the needs and development of the times.
Quality Improvement
Improve the quality of education and research in artificial intelligence.
Develop and Improve Collaborations
Develop and improve symmetric and synergistic cooperation in artificial intelligence that benefits both government and private institutions nationally and globally to support improving academic program performance.

Vision
The vision is "to become an innovative, independent, and leading master's program in producing excellent and competitive graduates in the field of artificial intelligence at the global level." The vision is the goal to achieve within a particular time. Within a maximum of 10 years since its establishment, the Master's Program in Artificial Intelligence aspires to become an innovative, independent, and leading program in producing graduates in artificial intelligence by 2030.
