On Thursday, November 7, 2024, a team from the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) visited the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) to advance discussions on the Domestic Scholarship Program for the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence. This meeting follows an established partnership between Komdigi and USK that began in February 2024, aimed at developing educational programs that integrate industry expertise and prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital sector.
Held in the Dean’s conference room, the meeting was attended by the FMIPA Dean, Vice Dean II, Vice Dean III, Dr. Hizir, and faculty members from the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence program. Discussions covered the program’s academic structure and potential involvement of Komdigi instructors in course delivery. The team explored the possibility of Komdigi staff leading specific AI courses and contributing to the curriculum through guest lectures. These guest lectures would allow students to gain insights into current trends, challenges, and industry practices directly from professionals working in the digital technology sector.
Since the partnership began earlier this year, Komdigi and USK have focused on aligning academic and industry goals to meet the needs of Indonesia’s digital economy. This scholarship program is an extension of that goal, providing students with educational and professional opportunities supported by both academic and government resources.
The collaboration underscores the shared commitment of USK and Komdigi to advance AI education, preparing scholarship recipients for impactful roles in the digital and AI fields.
This partnership exemplifies the synergy between educational institutions and government agencies, demonstrating how targeted collaborations can elevate academic programs to meet real-world demands. Through these initiatives, Komdigi and FMIPA continue to build a foundation for meaningful advancements in artificial intelligence and digital innovation in Indonesia.
