Banda Aceh, September 12, 2024 – The Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), proudly hosted the International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICELTICs) 2024. Held on September 12-13, 2024, the conference adopted the theme “Harmonizing Human-Machine Synergy: Shaping the Future with Responsible AI for a Thriving Humanity,” focusing on the importance of ethical and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of humanity.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of USK, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan, who emphasized the need for rapid advancements in AI to be accompanied by ethical responsibility to ensure positive impacts on society and global humanity.

ICELTICs 2024 featured four distinguished keynote speakers from different countries, Prof. Stephan Chalup (Australia) – delivered his presentation online, Dr. Chutiporn Anitariya (Thailand), Dr. Zakaria Maamar (Qatar) and Dr. Sair Mirza Pahlevi (Jakarta). Three of the speakers attended the conference in Banda Aceh in person, while Stephan Chalup delivered his keynote speech online from Australia. These experts shared their insights on the latest developments in artificial intelligence and informatics, underscoring the significance of human-machine collaboration in shaping a better future.

In addition to the keynote speeches, the conference also featured parallel paper presentation sessions, where researchers from various countries presented their latest findings in AI, electrical engineering, and related fields. These sessions provided an excellent platform for scholars to exchange ideas, discuss innovations, and collaborate on future projects aimed at advancing AI responsibly.

The conference attracted participants from various countries, including academics, researchers, students, and professionals, all eager to discuss how AI can be developed responsibly, strengthening the synergy between humans and machines to promote greater well-being for society.

With the conclusion of ICELTICs 2024, USK hopes the discussions, presentations, and outcomes will foster sustainable innovation in AI, ensuring technological advancements align with human values and benefit the global community.
